Protest bezuiniging op de GGZ / Protest underfinancing mental health care

Morgen, woensdag 11 mei is er een protest tegen de bezuiniging op de GGZ.
Recent sloot de KIB, een kliniek in Amsterdam namelijk en in juli sluit het CvP, een kliniek in Lunteren. Bij Eikenboom in Zeist verdwijnen er 16 bedden en bij Scelta in Apeldoorn worden er 24 bedden geschrapt. Er blijven steeds minder klinische behandelplekken over. En dan zijn er natuurlijk nog onwijs lange wachtlijsten, de zorgverzekeraars met te veel macht en de jarenlange onderbesteding in de GGZ.

Die dag houdt de commissie Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport een debat over gezondheid. De GGZ wordt hierbij veelal overzien in de agenda van dit debat.
Daarom komt organisatie Red de GGZ op deze dag in actie om aandacht te vragen voor de manier hoe de GGZ steeds maar weer niet belangrijk gemaakt wordt.

DWARS organiseert dit protest niet zelf, maar staat wel achter dit protest.

Tomorrow on Wednesday, May 11th, there will be a protest against the underfinancing of the GGZ (the mental health care). Recently the KIB, a clinic in Amsterdam, closed and in July the CvP, a clinic in Lunteren will close. At Eikenboom in Zeist, 16 beds will disappear and at Scelta in Apeldoorn, 24 beds will be cut. Fewer and fewer clinical treatment locations remain. And then of course there are the incredibly long waiting lists, the health insurers with too much power and the years of underspending in the GGZ. 

Tomorrow, the committee of Public Health, Welfare and Sport are holding a debate on health. The GGZ is mostly overlooked in the agenda of this debate.
That is why the organisation “Red de GGZ” will take action that day to draw attention to the way the GGZ is now seen to be insignificant.
