Verkiezingen / Elections

Vrijdag is de zetelverdeling van de gemeenteraad bekend gemaakt. Wat een mooi resultaat heeft GroenLinks Utrecht deze verkiezingen geboekt. DWARS Utrecht kijkt uit op een geslaagde campagne, met flyeracties, huis- aan huisacties en filmpjes van onze toppers Julia Kleinrensink, Mahaar Fattal, Marcel Vonk, Nazanin Abdul, Julia Matser. DWARS Utrecht is daarnaast erg blij om te zien dat GroenLinks in de Bilt, Zeist en Nieuwegein de grootste zijn. We bedanken ook Maddy Vangangelt uit Amersfoort  en Jesper Bloem uit de Bilt voor de samenwerking in de campagne. We zijn ontzettend trots op de stemmen die zijn binnengehaald in de hele provincie!

DWARS Utrecht feliciteert alle kandidaten die een zetel hebben behaald en GroenLinks de komende vier jaar mogen vertegenwoordigen in de raad. Daarnaast bedanken wij alle raadsleden die zich de afgelopen periode hebben ingezet voor Utrecht. In het bijzonder bedanken wij graag Sebastiaan Rood en Marcel Vonk. DWARS Utrecht heeft vaak en op een prettige manier samengewerkt met Sebastiaan en Marcel en wij vinden het jammer dat we hen niet meer terug zien in de huidige raad. Met het vertrek van Marcel valt er een gat in de portefeuille jeugdzorg. DWARS Utrecht vindt het belangrijk dat het onderwerp onder de aandacht blijft. Hiervoor moet een jong raadslid met kennis van en passie voor het onderwerp aan de slag met dit onderwerp. DWARS Utrecht denkt hierin graag mee. 

De komende tijd staat in het teken van formeren. GroenLinks mag het initiatief nemen in de coalitieonderhandelingen en dit stemt ons positief. Utrecht staat de komende jaren voor grote uitdagingen. In tijden van klimaatcrisis, woningnood en groeiende ongelijkheid is het van belang dat Utrecht geleid wordt door een zo links mogelijk college. Besturen met de VVD is wat DWARS Utrecht betreft geen optie. Utrecht kent veel goede linkse partijen en wij moedigen deze linkse samenwerking ook van harte aan. Daarom dringen wij er op aan bij GroenLinks Utrecht dat alle linkse partijen worden betrokken bij de coalitieonderhandelingen.

On Friday, the distribution of seats in the city council was announced. What a great result GroenLinks Utrecht has achieved in these elections. DWARS Utrecht looks back on a successful campaign, with flyer actions, door-to-door actions and videos of our top campaigners Julia Kleinrensink, Mahaar Fattal, Marcel Vonk, Nazanin Abdul and Julia Matser. DWARS Utrecht is also very happy to see that GroenLinks is the largest in De Bilt, Zeist and Nieuwegein. We also thank Maddy Vangangelt from Amersfoort and Jesper Bloem from De Bilt for their cooperation in the campaign. We are very proud of the votes that have been received throughout the province!

DWARS Utrecht congratulates all candidates who won a seat and may represent GroenLinks in the council for the next four years. In addition we thank all councillors who have dedicated themselves to Utrecht in the past period. In particular we would like to thank Sebastiaan Rood and Marcel Vonk. DWARS Utrecht has often and in a pleasant way worked together with Sebastiaan and Marcel and we regret not seeing them again in the current council. Marcel’s departure leaves a hole in the youth care portfolio. DWARS Utrecht finds it important that the subject remains in the spotlight. This requires a young council member with knowledge of and passion for the subject to start working on it. DWARS Utrecht is happy to think along with this.

The coming period will be all about forming parties. GroenLinks is allowed to take the initiative in the coalition negotiations and we are positive about this. Utrecht is facing big challenges in the coming years. In times of climate crisis, housing shortage and growing inequality, it is important that Utrecht is led by the most left-wing party possible. As far as DWARS Utrecht is concerned, governing with the VVD is not an option. Utrecht has many good left-wing parties and we encourage this left-wing cooperation wholeheartedly. We therefore urge GroenLinks Utrecht to involve all left-wing parties in the coalition negotiations.
