Applications for DWARS Groningen board are open again!
26 April 2024It's that time of year again: board applications for the 2024-25 board year are open!
As a board member of DWARS Groningen, you will organise interesting lectures, social gatherings and important social actions. It is the perfect way to learn about politics, have a great time and gain relevant board experience!
You can apply by sending a cover letter and your CV to kandidatencommissie.groningen@dwars.org. The deadline for applying is 9 June 2024. The board members will finally be elected by the members of DWARS Groningen at the General Branch Meeting (AAV) on 26 June. It is also possible to apply for multiple positions to increase your chances of being elected at the AAV.
President
The chairman is the face of DWARS Groningen. Both internally and externally, you are
the first point of contact.
Your main task is to ensure that the board performs its duties and can out
conduct. In addition, as chairman, you maintain an overview within the board. The chairman is
therefore an organised person. You make sure other board members do a good job
do and keep an eye on whether that happens. You can give constructive criticism
And so encourage people. As chairman, you are always working on getting extra
focus on Drenthe and the province of Groningen outside the city. Because

The treasurer is responsible for managing the money affairs of the

nationwide about the department's income. It is important that the treasurer can properly assess how much

needed and be good at applying the rules. You will also have plenty of scope for small tasks to support your fellow board members.

Organisation and members
As board member Organisation and Members, you are the liaison between the members and committees and the board.
In this position, you will have a lot of contact with the active members of the department. You will ensure

Often, you are also the point of contact at DWARS activities if a member or guest feels uncomfortable or unsafe. This position takes about 8-10 hours a week.
Political Secretary
The political secretary is responsible for the political visibility of DWARS Groningen.
Your main task is to organise political actions. These are actions through which you express DWARS's opinion in a serious or playful way. Examples include writing a press release or crafting a huge train. The rest of the board helps you, of course, but you bear the responsibility
for the organisation. It is important that you keep a close eye on the (local) news. In doing so, you constantly look at how we as DWARS Groningen can respond to local political issues. You also have contact with other PJOs to set up activities and actions together.
The political secretary has a passion for (local) politics. You are incisive and not easily deterred. You dare to shock.
Of course, the political secretary is not alone. Your fellow board members are always helping and thinking along. However, you are ultimately responsible for the political visibility of DWARS Groningen. It helps as Political Secretary to become active in the PolitiCie to organise playful actions together with the board and the committee. Finally, you are also responsible for DWARS Groningen's campaigns during the political elections.The position takes 8-10 hours a week.
