These applications are for the 2021/2022 board year, so the position will be filled until the AAV in June 2022 durations.
President
The chairman is the face of DWARS Groningen. Both internally and externally, you are the first point of contact. Your main task is to ensure that the board performs and can carry out its tasks. In addition, as chairman you maintain an overview within the board. The chairman is therefore an organised person. You ensure that other board members do their work well and keep an eye on whether this is happening. You can give constructive criticism and thus encourage people. As chairman, you are always working to put extra attention on Drenthe and the province of Groningen outside the city. Because we can always go to the GroenLinks building in the city of Groningen, these are sometimes forgotten.
In addition, the chairman is a point of contact for people outside the department. For instance, the chairperson liaises with the national board and other committees of DWARS. As chairman, you liaise with other political youth organisations. You also ensure good contact with GroenLinks boards and factions at local and provincial level. Furthermore, as chairman, you are the spokesperson for the press. It is therefore important that you are able to express DWARS's opinion well and convincingly, even at unexpected moments.
A good chairman is enthusiastic and goes for it 100 per cent. A lot of time can go into this job. You will spend about 15-20 hours a week on this.
Organisation and members
As board member Organisation and Members, you are the liaison between the members and committees and the board. In this position, you have a lot of contact with the active members of the department. You ensure a good relationship between the committees and the board. You consult with the board on the committees' plans and relay to the members the board's advice. You also try to keep the committees full of energy and seek new members for the committees. As an Organisation and Members board member, you attend committee meetings, but you may also choose to delegate committees to other board members. It is important that even though you can hand off committees to other board members, you remain in control of the committees. Currently, we have the Frequent Activities Committee, RevoluCie, Editing, Cooking Committee, PolitiCie and the working groups for major activities. For this position, it is important that you are easy to get along with people as you will have a lot of contact with active members. In addition, it is important that this board member
confident in seeking new members for the committees. You have an eye for DWARSe core values such as inclusion and diversity, and do your best to ensure that everyone feels welcome at DWARS. Furthermore, it is important that the board member Organisation and Members is enthusiastic, as this will also make members in committees enthusiastic. This position takes about 15 hours a week.
General board member
As a general board member, you will not have a set set set of tasks as in other positions. Together with the rest of the board, you will organise activities. Furthermore, you can decide for yourself what tasks you will perform in addition. This can vary from writing the DWARSe newsletter, running the Twitter account of DWARS Groningen to organising a drink, a campaign or a lecture. The position requires a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Have you become enthusiastic? Then send an e-mail with cover letter and CV to the candidates' committee: kandidatencommissie.groningen@dwars.org.
