Meeting politicians in a relaxed and friendly way

Are you politically interested and have you always wanted to meet real politicians, but found it a bit exciting? Or do you really enjoy chatting with people about politics and would you like to meet real politicians? Would you like to ask Lisa Westerveld how to do that cool dip-dye, expand your political network, or have you wanted to ask Tineke Strik what her favourite colour is? Do you like socialising and just want to hang out with political people in a not-so-politically-focused way? Or do you secretly want to know who the members of the Provincial Council of Gelderland or the councillors from your city really are? You can!

On Friday evening, March 6 at 19:00h, we will organise DWARS X GL²D, a fun, low-key event where DWARSers and interested young people can meet GroenLinks politicians from across the province of Gelderland.

All GroenLinks politicians (councillors, mayors, and aldermen from the municipality, and the Statesmen and our own deputy from the province) have been invited, and Tineke Strik (MEP living in Wageningen) and Lisa Westerveld (MP from Nijmegen) will also be there. What will we do? Have a nice chat, while enjoying a drink (or not), relax, whatever you want. The politicians are there for you. Sometimes they seem very important or very distant from you in their ivory towers, but actually GroenLinksers are very nice, sociable people, and they would like to get to know you.
It will be a friendly get-together, no more, no less, with only GroenLinks politicians, DWARSers, and interested young people. The idea is to make it so easy for you to get to know our GroenLinks politicians in a relaxed way. Still find it a bit exciting? We provide an open safe atmosphere where you can ask all your questions to 'our' politicians, will you provide the fun?

Grand Café Metropole is a 2-minute walk from Velperpoort station. The last train back to Nijmegen goes at 00:22h, to Ede-Wageningen at 00:34h, and to Apeldoorn at 23:52h. Are you a DWARS member in Gelderland? Then you can claim your travel expenses back here.

N.B.: We have not explicitly looked into the accessibility of the venue, if you need assistance or special facilities (such as a wheelchair accessible toilet or a quiet room for a guide dog, for example?), please send an email to secretaris.gelderland@dwars.org or indicate it in your registration, and we will work with Café Metropole to see what we can arrange.
