DWARS at provincial members' meeting

25 November 2022

This Saturday is the Provincial Assembly of GroenLinks Brabant again, and it is more important ever. This is because this is where the top 10 electoral list and election programme will be decided.

Top 10

The board of DWARS Brabant-Zeeland is really very happy with this top 10, with our fantastic DWARSe list leader Jade van der Linden. The rest of the list also has really good and nice DWARS content, with former board member Laura van Hazendonk, youngest of the top 10 Emma van Beek and our new star Nordin Kole.

We hereby provide the following voting recommendation with Nordin Kole as the big scaffold, whom we want to help from 10th to 7th place. This DWARSer has quickly emerged as a great advocate of typical DWARSe views, therefore #StemNordinOp7

  1. Jade van der Linden (25)
  2. Tom Ludwig (33)
  3. Laura van Hazendonk (27)
  4. Daan van den Broek (34)
  5. Nelleke van Wijk (67)
  6. Emma van Beek (22)
  7. Nordin Kole (24)
  8. Jos Bessems (59)
  9. Michiel Philippart (34)
  10. Niek Engbers (37)

Election programme

This is the time to let the DWARSe views shine through and become visible. We ourselves have therefore tabled 3 amendments precisely on key issues for DWARS. Accessibility-Juvenile participation-Fighting poverty.

You can find our amendments below:

  • GroenLinks wants the province to tackle menstrual poverty and make funds available for this purpose. It will do this together with municipalities and civil society organisations. The province will also make menstrual products available at the provincial office.
  • In its communications, the province ensures accessible language, using B1 as a guideline.
  • GroenLinks wants the province to better involve young people in policy and decision-making. The province should include young people in major interventions on their living environment from the beginning of decision-making.

Board member campaign and politics Ruben Bals:

“These amendments can make the programme even greener, more social and inclusive. I hope you will massively support these amendments precisely to address these issues. With our menstrual poverty amendment, we hope the province can start leading by example. With our amendment for youth participation, we give young people a better and clearer voice; the non-committal has to come off. Our amendment for the B1 directive makes the province ensure that every inhabitant of our fantastic province can really participate. We are changing Brabant will you join us?”
