Every month, the members of DWARS Utrecht, Pink! Central Netherlands and Young Socialists Utrecht meet to discuss a particular theme. At the last edition of Links Lullen before the summer holidays, we will dwell on Naughty Actions. Or rather: Civil Disobedience (but 'naughty actions' sounds nicer).
This is the idea that some laws are badly made, and good people are allowed to break these bad laws. The idea is that you settle for the consequences (punishment) because you don't settle for obeying the law. Over the centuries, this idea has received a lot of support and the principle was used by Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
We will try to approach this theme from different angles: political, but also legal and philosophical. Of course, we will be helped by interesting speakers.
Walk-in is at 19:30, the programme starts at 20:00. Afterwards, there will of course be room for drinks. Will you be there? Even if you are not a member of one of the organising parties, you are welcome to join the discussion.
