GroenLinkse young people rejuvenate candidate list GroenLinks Zuid-Holland
Delft, 25 November 2018 - At the general membership meeting of GroenLinks Zuid-Holland approved the list of candidates for the Provincial Council.
Where previously young people showed less and less interest in politics, the young people of GroenLinks Zuid-Holland are participating more actively than ever. The two branches of the youth organisation, DWARS Leiden-Haaglanden and DWARS Rotterdam-Rijnmond, managed to vote a total of 10 younger candidates onto the list.
"This is a result I had not dared to dream of. Ten young candidates in the top 20 of GroenLinks Zuid-Holland proves once again that politics really does live among young people. As a young person, I am committed to making our voice heard in politics and GroenLinks shows that we are being listened to." said Stein Smit, chairman of the Leiden-Haaglanden branch.
The young candidates say they will therefore be very active in the 2019 Provincial Council elections. This election has a low turnout among young people on average and the candidates want to change that with this list.
