Everyone within the rule of law should feel safe and be safe. This applies to people who have to deal with police, justice and security or emergency services, and also to people working for these organisations. The hardening in society worries DWARS. There is less and less room for conversation and opinions that deviate from the social norm. Instead, diversity of ideas and identities should be celebrated. Racism, sexism and other forms of discrimination and exclusion are not tolerated in our society. Undermining crime must be tackled, in a fair and just manner. DWARS has an eye for the human dimension. Internationally, DWARS strives for a world without war. At the same time, we recognise that there is still a long way to go to achieve this. To take the necessary steps towards this end, DWARS advocates intensive cooperation at the international level. Fundamental human rights are central to this.
