Daar zijn we dan, het Oprichtingscongres van PROTEST! Dit congres houden wij op 11 juli bij Nieuwspoort in Den Haag. Dit congres zal voor het eerste deel een normal DWARS congres zijn, daarna houden wij een gezamenlijk congres met de Young Socialists. Dit congres is de ideale gelegenheid om je vrienden van DWARS en de JS bij elkaar te zien, en nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten. Ook kun je invloed uitoefenen op het reilen en zeilen van DWARS, en op de fusie tussen de twee verenigingen. Voor het DWARS-congresgedeelte werken we volgens de procedures uit onze statuten, HR, en the Congressional Handbook. Voor het gezamenlijke congresdeel gebruiken we het gezamenlijk Congreshandboek, lees die vooral even van tevoren door.

The congress is the highest body of the association. This means that the congress decides on the most important matters of DWARS.
With a motion, you can call on the board or another body to do or not do something or DWARS can speak out for or against something. Motions can be submitted t/m 22 juni (maandag). Na het sluiten van de deadline kun je actuele moties indienen. Een actuele motie is een motie over een onderwerp die pas na het sluiten van de motiedeadline actueel is geworden. De Congrescommissie besluit samen met het dagpresidium of de motie actueel is. Kijk op de motion page for a list of motions adopted by past congresses. You can also submit amendments to motions.
You can also submit change proposals on the Articles of Association, the Internal Regulations, the Code of Conduct, the Programme of Principles and the Political Programme submit. It is possible to propose additions, modifications or deletions. This can t/m 8 juni (maandag). Na dat de ingediende wijzigingsvoorstellen zijn gepubliceerd, kun je amendementen indienen t/m 22 juni (maandag). Amendementen zijn wijzigingen op wijzigingsvoorstellen.
The board advises against submitting proposed amendments at this congress. There is little time available and the documents on which an amendment proposal is to be submitted are short. They also do not affect the documents for the new association.
Ook het indienen van moties wordt afgeraden. Houdt rekening met dat DWARS formeel nog maar een zeer korte periode zal bestaan en dat moties niet van toepassing zijn op de nieuwe vereniging.
To submit amendment proposals, you have t/m 8 juni (maandag). The deadline for amending amendments is 22 juni (maandag). The deadline for non-actual motions is also 22 juni (maandag). There is no deadline for topical motions.
