Vacancy DWARS Academy Trainer
Vacancy Trainer DWARS Academy (ongoing, March 2023)
The DWARS Academy is always open for new trainers! Will you become our new trainer?
What does the DWARS Academy do?
The DWARS Academy is a group of DWARSers who provide training to other DWARSers. These include trainings on debating, working in a team, organising activities, campaigning or activism. The Academy develops its trainings itself, and is also a place where trainers can further develop their own skills.
The complete list of training courses provided by the Academy can be found on the website. The Academy is continuously looking for new people who enjoy providing training to other DWARSers and further developing the training sessions.
The Academy meets every six weeks. Alternately, there is then a meeting, or a development session. During a development session, the Academy works on its own training courses, the trainers exchange experiences and work on their skills.
What do trainers do?
Trainers provide training to DWARSers and help develop the training sessions. When the Academy receives a request for a training course, you can indicate whether you can give it. Trainings are usually given by two trainers.
When training sessions take place physically, you can claim your travel expenses from DWARS.
Who are you?
What we particularly look for in a trainer:
- You would like to learn more about training, so you do not have to be an (experienced) trainer yet.
- You enjoy imparting knowledge and skills;
- You can communicate and organise well;
- You can convey enthusiasm to a group;
Within the Academy, new trainers with all types of expertise are welcome. We would love to hear in which training courses you can excel, or which new courses you would like to add to the Academy.
The time investment for the Academy is about 6 hours per month. Keep in mind that this can sometimes be more, depending on how many training sessions you want to give.
All new trainers receive training on how to give training sessions. So you do not have to have experience in training yet, but you should especially want to learn this.
