DWARS money disappeared

This was an April 1 joke!

Over the past few months, things have been happening behind the scenes within DWARS. Although we have so far been a well-run organisation with good financial systems, our association also appeared to have gaps in the system.

Last month, we found out by accident that money was missing from our account. Although we had tremendous faith in our treasurer and have a good financial control system, something seemed wrong. Asking more explanation from our treasurer has unfortunately become increasingly difficult. At the beginning, she seemed cooperative, looking for what was going on. Unfortunately, we are now at a point where we are sure that she cooperated in the disappearance of the money.

For now, we cannot tell exactly what amount is gone and what consequences this will have. As a board, we are extremely shocked and disappointed. We have started an official process to find out exactly what happened.

As soon as we know more, we will of course share this with you. For now, we will try to proceed with the tasks we can perform and will not make any further statements on this.

We understand the surprise and shock this may cause, but hope you understand that we cannot say anything further about this for now.
