Protest against minister Faber

10 October 2024

On Thursday 3 October, PVV Minister for Asylum and Migration Marjolein Faber announced that she wants to 'warn' people coming to the Netherlands to seek asylum with special signs at asylum seekers' centres saying: 'Here we work on your return'. This is, of course, totally unacceptable and inhumane. Everyone has the right to seek asylum in the Netherlands and the government should welcome these people.

That is why last Tuesday, 8 October, we joined Young Democrats, CDJA, Young Socialists, PINK! and Violet in action against Minister Faber's inhumane plans to place return signs at asylum seekers' centres. We protested in front of the Lower House with the sign: 'Dear Minister Faber, here we are working on your departure'. Hopefully, the racist and inhumane policies of this PVV minister will soon be over. DWARS stands for a humane asylum policy and believe that people on the run should be welcomed with open arms.
