DWARS is looking for a new national board!

22 February 2023

The national board of DWARS is responsible for almost everything that happens within DWARS. From activities and education for members to promoting our green and leftist ideals. This is how, as a board, you ensure an active and inclusive association. As a member of the national board, you will devote a year to DWARS and your green, left-wing and progressive ideals.

Who are you?

You want to work for a greener, more social and progressive Netherlands. You probably already have some experience within DWARS and know well what DWARS stands for. You enjoy attending DWARS activities and interacting with its members. You like picking things up and are good at organising or want to learn to do so. As a board member, it is useful if you can plan well, have good communication skills and are flexible. You can also work well in a team, but also independently. And, not unimportantly: you want to lift the association to a higher level from the board.

Check out the various functions of the DWARS board via the links below.

We encourage everyone to apply for this position, regardless of your gender, ethnic or cultural background, disability, sexual orientation, religion, work or education type (there is no minimum work experience or education type). Also, you do not have to know everything about boards and the organisation yet, as long as you are eager to learn!

What we offer

The DWARS board distributes a board scholarship among the board members. In previous years, the chairman received around €750 per month and other board members around €400 per month. These amounts may differ for the next board. In addition, you can claim your travel expenses. The next DWARS board will be in office from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.

Application process

You can apply until 28 March 2023 by filling in the application form. After this, you will be invited by the candidate committee for an interview and a case day may follow during which you will work with other candidates. The candidate committee will then write a recommendation on your application. Until then, your application is confidential (except for fellow candidates should a case day be organised). After this, members can read your opinion in the congress paper. At the congress on 10 and 11 June, you can explain your candidacy.

Are you interested in joining the board of DWARS but unsure which position suits you? Contact the search committee. For general questions about applying, please email kandidatencommissie@dwars.org.
