Culture and media can introduce us to new ideas and stories. It excites, inspires and brings us together. Culture and media is a reflection of the world and prevailing views in society, thus it is inextricably linked to politics.

Both journalism and the arts sector play an important critical and agenda-setting role in society. This position of culture and media are under pressure in the current political landscape. At the Arts, Culture & Media Committee, we reflect on DWARSe positions on a culture and media policy that focuses on diversity, inclusion and freedom.

What are we currently working on?

We are working on putting the committee on the map within DWARS as much as possible. Currently, therefore, we are mainly looking at organising activities and thinking about possible articles for AboutDWARS!

Hello! I'm Freddie and I'm 17. I live in The Hague and am working on my VWO final exams so I can study philosophy in Leiden. I love art, music and literature (and DWARS, of course).
