DWARS co-organiser protest miniskirt

DWARS, together with the Young Socialists, the Young Democrats and ROOD, is organising a mini-skirt protest on Dam Square in Amsterdam next Saturday.

More than 100 women were assaulted in Cologne on New Year's Eve. In addition, hundreds of women and men have recently told the #zeghet campaign, among others, that they have been assaulted or raped.

Yet there are still those who say the victims in Cologne "must have asked for it" or "then they shouldn't have worn such short skirts.

This is, of course, ridiculous. Sexual assault, rape or other sexual violence is NEVER the victim's fault. It is high time we took this kind of crime seriously and dealt with the perpetrators instead of the victims.
