DWARS at the General Assembly of FYEG

02 September 2024

On 22, 23 and 24 August was the General Assembly (General Assembly) of the Federation of Young European Greens (FYEG) in Dublin, Ireland. FYEG is the European youth organisation of the European Green Party and also an umbrella organisation of young green organisations across Europe. DWARS is a member of FYEG and therefore joins the General Assemblies (GA). From DWARS, four of us were represented: Minne and Farah from the Country Board and Cerisa and Aislinn from DIRT. The GAs are similar to the congresses of DWARS. Various things are discussed, such as changes to the statutes and the political programme, but also the elections of the new board of FYEG, among others. Check here the new board of FYEG!

Several resolutions will also be discussed at the GA. Here you can read all the resolutions that were passed. As DWARS, we tabled several amendments to the resolutions, to get them as much in line with DWARS's political programme as possible. The most important resolution discussed at the last GA was about peace and justice in Palestine. Read the full resolution here. Besides the many and long negotiations on the amendments, we also made a lot of contact with PJOs from other countries in Europe. This was very enjoyable!
