Open letter tax avoidance

Subject: Tax evasion by multinationals

Dear taxpayer,

You are entitled to a tax refund. Find out why here.

For multinationals, the Netherlands is a tax haven
Currently, multinationals such as Google, IKEA and Starbucks channel €3,500 billion in revenue through this country every year. They often pay a maximum of 2.5% tax on that. Smaller businesses - like the bakery, the hairdresser and your hipster record shop - have to raise a multiple of that.

This costs the Netherlands €30bn a year
That is as much as the Dutch budget for Education, Culture and Science. It is almost half of our total healthcare budget or, say, 11 times the yield of Groningen's natural gas.

That can and should be fairer
That is why GroenLinks is tackling unfair taxation. To do so, the tax rate for multinationals needs to rise substantially. By working together at European level, we can introduce a minimum corporate tax rate across Europe. GroenLinks also wants multinationals to disclose how much tax they pay on a country-by-country basis. It is time for transparency. It is time to stop tax avoidance. It is time for change.

Vote for GroenLinks on 15 March
The money raised by fair taxes will be invested by GroenLinks in green measures, arts, healthcare and education. So you will soon finally see the profits of big multinationals reflected in society.
