The Arts, Culture & Media Committee is looking for a secretary!

What does the Arts, Culture & Media Commission do?

The Arts, Culture & Media committee. is the committee for arts and culture lovers. This committee can bring together members who love music, art, books or films. The Arts, Culture & Media committee will organise activities around culture, such as movie nights or discussion nights. Before the meetings, members can have dinner together at DWARS's expense. Travel expenses to the meeting can also be claimed.

What does the secretary do?

The secretary takes minutes of the meetings. The secretary also helps the chairman organise activities and lead the committee. The secretary does this, for example, by approaching speakers or keeping track of the mail. Together with the chairman, the secretary ensures that the committee runs smoothly and has a good atmosphere. The secretary also attends the Political Consultation, which is a consultation between all substantive committees.

In the week of an activity or meeting, this function takes more time, but less in other weeks. You will also be working on it mostly in the evening, as that is when the meetings and activities are. You will spend about 2 hours a week on it.

What does the chairman do?

The chairperson creates the agenda and leads the meetings. The chair also enthuses the committee members and is the point of contact for new members. The chairperson provides an overview of the committee's projects, such as organising an activity. The chairman does this, for example, by approaching speakers. Together with the secretary, the chairman ensures that the committee runs smoothly and has a good atmosphere. The chairman also keeps in touch with the responsible board member and the chairman goes to the Political Consultation which is a consultation between all substantive committees.

As president, it is important to want to learn or be able to do the following:

  • organising activities and meetings
  • are interested in the topics related to the economy
  • communicate well

Even if you can't do this yet, that's not a problem. The important thing is that you are eager to learn and enthusiastic!
