Board DWARS Utrecht

The board of the DWARS Utrecht section consists of seven people, each of whom is ultimately responsible for one of the seven portfolios, and there is one vice-chairman who supports the chairman. These are our portfolios:

Isaro - Chairman

Hey all! I'm Isaro, 18 years old and studying social work at HU. I myself come from Mijdrecht and still live there. I love listening to music, history and being creative. My most favourite conversation topic is music and fan giggles about artists 🙂 Next year, I'm super looking forward to being your president

Laurens - Secretary & Vice-chairman

Hi dear DWARS UUU,

I'm Laurens (24), grew up in Leusden and Amersfoort (AAA) but now a student and living in Utrecht since 2 years: a born and bred Utrechter (province), in other words. I am doing a research master on policy and politics of sustainability, love to visit the many live music venues in Utrecht. In the past few years, I got to know DWARS quite well through activities, committee EDM, and with fellow political advisors. I look forward to further developing our DWARS-, Utrecht-, and political skills together. Here's to fun activities, interesting conversations, energetic demonstrations, and new friendships or alliances.

Martijn - Treasurer

Hello, I am martijn, 23 years old. I am currently doing economics and business economics in leiden. Since I became treasurer, I arrange the financial side of DWARS Utrecht. I also like philosophy, art history and occasionally reading fiction.

Jelle - Activities

Hey lieve DWARSers!

Ik ben Jelle, 17 jaar oud, en studeer met veel plezier wiskunde en informatica aan de UU. Hoewel ik geboren en getogen ben in Eindhoven, heb ik van Utrecht de afgelopen 2 jaar echt mijn thuis gemaakt! Ik ben zeer vereerd het stokje te mogen overnemen en jullie bestuurslid Activiteiten te mogen zijn! Ik heb ontzettend veel zin om leuke, interessante en natuurlijk gezellige activiteiten te organiseren en hoop jullie daar allemaal te zien!

Anna - Campaign & Communications

Hi peepoi! I'm Anna, 22 years old and I am currently pursuing the minor in administrative and organisational science at UU. Before this, I have already completed a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a minor in data methods and statistics. This year, I am a campaign and communication board member and I am super looking forward to setting up a thunderous campaign together with other crossers! In my spare time, I also like hiking, camping and live music.

David - Politics

Hello dear DWARS'ers,

I am David, 24 years old and a graduate in Public Administration from UU/University of Leiden. Currently, besides my position at DWARS, I chair a working group at GroenLinks. I also enjoy being involved in music, photography, cycling and, of course, following developments in politics. In the coming year, I hope to bring municipal politics more to the attention of young people and to make the DWAR sound heard as much as possible in the group. In addition, I think it would be very useful and fun to revive the PolitiCie and write a nice DWARS political programme with this committee for our beautiful city. Julia - Regional Inclusion

Hi dear DWARS'ers!

I'm Julia, I'm 19 and I study law and philosophy at University College Utrecht. As a board member of regional inclusion, I make sure we don't focus too much on the municipality of Utrecht, and are there for the whole province. I do this by organising activities outside Utrecht, and attending meetings of the GroenLinks factions in various municipalities and the Provincial Council. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all! Besides DWARS Utrecht, I enjoy all kinds of crafts (knitting, crochet, embroidery...) playing music, the gym and Muay Thai.

Melvin – Oud-bestuurslid Activiteiten

Hi all! I'm Melvin, 23 years old, pursuing a research master's degree in Social Sciences at the UvA. Next year I hope to set up fun, interesting, inspiring and varied activities for the department, together with the rest of the board! I also enjoy reading and film classics and like to deal with topics such as the radical right, democracy, ideology and the Frankfurter Schule. If you have a nice idea for an activity, let us know and we will see if we can organise it, possibly together!
