Who will you be on our new board?

DWARS Utrecht will elect a new board at the summer AGM on 12 June! English below. 

Doing department board is a fun and educational way to get to know DWARS better. If you already know you want to apply, you can here, of course, if you are still unsure, you can always contact a board member to ask your questions. But who does what on a board? We have summarised that below!

President

• You lead and schedule meetings, and you are responsible for interdependence of the board
• You liaise with external organisations
• You keep in touch with the national board through the tri-weekly chairmen's meeting
• You will attend the board meetings of GroenLinks Utrecht

Secretary

• You keep track of the membership database and thus see when new people join the department: you contact them to welcome them!
• You take minutes of meetings and then ensure that the action points, agreements and minutes themselves are stored in the right place
• You manage the DWARS Utrecht website
• You organise the AAVs and are therefore also responsible for complying with the DWARSe rules

Treasurer

• You manage the money
• You hold the DWARS money card
• You make the budget for the next year
• You are responsible for accounting

Board member Politics

• You may attend group meetings of GroenLinks municipality and province: often prefer Utrecht city but Amersfoort would also be nice
• You keep up with politics in the region
• You lead the PolitiCie
• If something relevant to DWARS happens you take the initiative for a statement, an article or a tweet, for example

Board member Campaign & Communications

• You get to create instagram posts on Canva
• You communicate to members about activities via instagram, whatsapp and threads (and possibly other media, go wild)
• You will lead ACT!, the Activism & Campaigning Team
• In times of campaigning, you will work with the ACT on the local campaign
• Furthermore, you will go to demonstrations with the ACT and other members and find ways to be activist

Board member Activities

• You are responsible for the activities
• You usually look for the location of an activity
• You create the script for an activity
• You lead the Activities Committee
• You are mainly responsible for the (safe) atmosphere

Board member Regional Inclusion

• If we manage to fill this portfolio, you can take over from board member politics at provincial level
• You keep in touch with smaller municipalities than Amersfoort and Utrecht
• You make sure we hold activities not only in Amersfoort and Utrecht and look for new ways to be inclusive
