28 August demonstration: “Every Afghan right to a secure existence”

DWARSers can also come to next Saturday's demonstration called “Every Afghan entitled to a safe existence” “Many Afghans in the Netherlands (and beyond) feel abandoned. By the Dutch government and other western governments that evidently deem the lives of Afghans inferior. Because Afghanistan has appeared in the news for more than 40 years in a war context, most seem to have become numb to this injustice. “More than ever, Afghans are counting on your solidarity! Let us not be powerless and take action! Speak out during our big manifestation on Dam Square in Amsterdam. With your presence, demonstrate against the years of bloody attacks and current atrocities of the Taliban, the negligence and misdeeds of all international parties in Afghanistan, the lack of human rights for Afghan refugees inside and outside Europe's borders and speak out for the safety of all Afghans. Who for over 40 years now have been suffering from the ongoing war by numerous foreign parties and militias, are burdened with exile and stuck en masse in refugee camps like Moria.

Our big rally on Dam Square is not only a sign of support for the Afghan diaspora, but also an appeal to the Dutch government. We call on the Dutch government to immediately declare Afghanistan officially unsafe so that Afghans are entitled to protection and asylum. It is also important for the Netherlands, like other European countries, to completely and indefinitely stop sending undocumented and failed Afghans abroad as opposed to the Netherlands' current ambition to send Afghans back after six months. In addition, the Dutch government should urgently secure all Afghans who have worked in Afghanistan for the Dutch government, armed forces, media or NGOs. And finally, it is important that the Netherlands immediately stop the massive human rights violations in the inhumane Greek refugee camps like Moria - where more than 10,000 Afghans are detained - and evacuate the refugees in a European context.

So come to Dam Square on 28 August, bring your banners and placards and support Afghans and Afghan refugees. There will be a stage with various speakers, music, after which we will walk in a procession through the city; from Dam Square to Museum Square for Afghanistan! Want to endorse the above points?
