Departmental conference winter 2019

Last Wednesday, DWARS Rotterdam-Rijnmond held its semi-annual departmental conference. Here, we as a board were able to justify ourselves to you as members where critical questions could be asked. We also discussed the budget and there was opportunity for motions and, of course, socialising.

This year, we had also invited a speaker, none other than Melody Deljou Fard! She came to speak about her role as board member of diversity and MBO at GroenLinks nationwide and how she ended up in Dutch politics after fleeing at 15.

We as a board hope that you found this first six months fun and valuable and look forward to all the educational and fun activities we may organise in the next six months!

On the 11th of December DWARS Rotterdam-Rijnmond held their bi-yearly general assembly. Here the board members presented their accountability reports to scrutiny of our members. On top of this we presented and talked about or annual budget for 2020. Just like always there was plenty of room for niceties and socialising.

This year we also invited a speaker to open the evening for us, none other than Melody Deljou Fard! She spoke about her role as national board member on diversity and vocational education at GroenLinks, and how she got involved in politics after becoming a refugee at age 15.

The board members hope you enjoyed the first half of the year and are looking forward to organising more fun and educational activities in half the year to come!
