On 15 March, it is that time again, we are going to vote. This year, we are going to elect the members of the provincial councils. This is an important time, not only for our parent party GroenLinks, but also for us, DWARS.

As DWARS, we will be campaigning for GroenLinks, more on this later. It is super important for us that GroenLinks becomes as big as possible. In addition, it is important to campaign not only for GroenLinks but also for our own values. It is for this reason that we are also going to run our own campaign with our own campaign material. With this, we are going to try to get as many young people into the states as possible.
But what do the provincial councils actually do? The provincial councils are important for two things: they are the link between the state and the municipalities, and the council members elect the members of the first chamber. So this is also why these elections in particular are so important. It ensures that we can make The Hague more sustainable, fair and inclusive, as well as improve things like public transport and nature in the province.

What will we do as DWARS?

We will take to the streets to make ourselves heard and seen. We will flyer and maybe even go door-to-door. We will be doing this in three places: Almere, Haarlem and Amsterdam. In addition, the national branch of DWARS has organised three more theme evenings. These will be about DWARS's three political spearheads: basic existence, climate justice and equality.
Will you help us fight for your sustainable, fair and inclusive future? Hope to see you soon at one of the campaign activities.

On March 15th we will once again be going to the ballot boxes, this time around we will be voting for the provinces, important because they elect the upper house. This is an important time, not only for our mother party GroenLinks, but also for us, DWARS.

GroenLinks is our motherparty. Because of that we, as DWARS, will be campaigning on their behalf. More info on this later, as it's in our best interest for GroenLinks to become as big as possible. However it's important to also campaign for our own beliefs. Because of this we are doing our own campaign theirs, with our own material and beliefs. By doing this we aim to elect as many young people as possible into the provinces.
But what on earth those people actually do after being elected into the provinces, you may think. The provinces are important for two things: being the bridge between the national government and municipalities, and electing the members of the upper house. Because of these important factors, these elections are crucial to compel the national government in The Hague to work alongside the local authorities for a more sustainable, equitable and inclusive future. This includes improving public transport and nature facilities. which are policy areas the provinces have a big say in.

What are we going to do as DWARS?

As DWARS we will take to the streets to be heard and seen. We will be handing out flyers and going door-to-door. We will do this in three places: Almere, Haarlem and Amsterdam. Besides this, DWARS at the national level is organising three theme nights for the national campaign. These are respectively about sustainability, equitability and inclusivity. These follow our main political ideologies of 1) combatting climate change through and chasing intersectional climate justice, of 2) making sure everyone is ensured a life in which they have guarantees and fallback options where the rich care for the poor instead of extorting them and of 3) everyone being able to live according to who they are. Where people don't have to be scared about how people will treat them based on anything ranging from gender & sexuality to religious & political beliefs and everything in between and far beyond.
Will you help us in our fight for your sustainable, equitable and inclusive future? Then with a bit of luck we will see you soon at one of the campaigning events.
