Job profiles
President
As president, you will represent DWARS Amsterdam externally. You will be responsible for external contacts: with other political youth organisations, with GroenLinks and all kinds of other organisations. It is fun to get to know people from other organisations and to organise great things together. You will also be the point of contact for the members of DWARS Amsterdam. It is great to see that people feel welcome with us and to be able to offer them a platform for discussions and debates. As president, you also contribute to organising events. You fulfil this task together with the other board members and the leading group. This is where you can put all your creative political ideas. You also perform practical tasks such as chairing meetings.
Secretary
The secretary is the backbone of any department. Are you organised, can you work neatly and are you proficient with language? Then the position of secretary at DWARS Amsterdam may be for you!
Secretarial duties behind the scenes embrace, among other things, managing the membership administration, keeping an eye on the mailbox, and arranging venues for events. Before the scenes, you will take care of the minutes, write the newsletter and (in consultation with the rest of the board) manage DWARS Amsterdam's website and social media, among other things. All in all, keep in mind that you will spend at least 8 hours a week on this position.
Treasurer
The treasurer of DWARS Amsterdam keeps an eye on money and keeps track of how much money is available and can be used. Money comes in from various pots and the treasurer is responsible for keeping track of them. Furthermore, the treasurer is also responsible for the budget. In this, the treasurer indicates the budget and makes a breakdown for expenditure. At the AAVs, you report on this.
Handy to know: all relevant schedules and forms will be given to you once you become treasurer.
General board member
Besides these permanent positions, there is always room for one or more general board members. You may set up this position yourself (by mutual agreement) as you wish. Useful functions are, for example:
Actions & CampaignsYou are the board member who, together with the Actions & Campaigns Committee, thinks up and implements cool actions. You are also involved in the campaign around the upcoming European and provincial elections.
External communication: As a board member of external communications, you will be responsible for DWARS Amsterdam's social media and website. You will also take on communication with the press.
Politics & Committees: DWARS Amsterdam currently has four committees and two working groups. As board member politics & committees, you will maintain contact with the chairs of these committees and working groups and ensure that they stay lively. In addition, you will be responsible for the political line of DWARS Amsterdam and, together with the committees, you will discuss what this line should look like.
In addition, as a general board member, you support the other board members and help where necessary. This allows you to discover where your talents lie best!
Vice president
DWARS is also still looking for a new vice-president. This is not a separate position but is usually combined with a position as secretary or treasurer. All you need to be able to do for this is to take over the chairman's duties in case of emergency.
