Job profiles
President
Chairman at DWARS Amsterdam is a fun and varied position. As president, you will represent DWARS Amsterdam outwardly. You will be responsible for external contacts: with other political youth organisations, with GroenLinks and all kinds of other organisations. It's fun getting to know people from other organisations and organising great things together. In addition, your job is to communicate with the members of DWARS Amsterdam: calling and emailing new members, enthusing members for events, keeping members informed about members etc etc. It is nice to see that people feel welcome with us and to be able to offer them a platform for conversations and debates. Also organising events you contribute to as chairman. You perform this task together with the other board members and the leading group. This is where you can put all your creative political ideas. You will additionally perform practical tasks such as chairing meetings.
Secretary
A competent secretary is the backbone of any successful department. Are you organised, can you work neatly and are you proficient with language? Then the position of secretary at DWARS Amsterdam may be for you!
Secretarial duties behind the scenes include managing membership records, keeping an eye on the mailbox, and liaising with Het Gespuis. Behind the scenes, you will, among other things, take the minutes, write the newsletter and (in consultation with the rest of the board) manage DWARS's website and social media. Keep in mind that, all in all, you will spend at least 8 hours a week on this position.
Treasurer
The treasurer of DWARS Amsterdam watches the money and keeps track of how much money is available and how much money can be used. But how exactly do you do this? And where does the money come from? Money comes in from different pots and the treasurer is responsible for keeping track of it. Furthermore, the Treasurer is also responsible for the budget. In this budget, the Treasurer indicates the budget and makes a breakdown for expenditure. At the end of the year, the Treasurer also makes a report on this.
Treasurer always sounds like a complicated role but the old treasurer, Paul Bot, is certainly willing to help. Also handy to know: all relevant schedules and forms will be given to you as soon as you become treasurer. So you don't have to bother with making your own excel sheets!
General board member/free fill-in
In addition, there is always room for one or more general board members. You may arrange this position yourself (by mutual agreement) as you wish. Think of board member External Communication, Schooling, Actions & Campaigns or Politics. In addition, you support the other board members and help where necessary. This way, you can discover where your talents lie best!
Vice president
DWARS is also still looking for a new vice-president. This is not a separate position but is usually combined with a position as secretary or treasurer. All you need to be able to do for this is to take over the chairman's duties in case of emergency.
