Candidate: Lotte Meerhoff

1. Introduce yourself!
My name is Lotte Meerhoff and I am 20 years old. I enjoy being president of our beautiful DWARS Limburg chapter and I am also active in DWARS as secretary of the education committee. I study at University College Maastricht where I focus on politics and policy.

2. Why are you running for provincial council?
I think it's important to show commitment to your ideals. If you disagree with something, you are going to change it. That is why I am active in politics. With my place on the list, I support GroenLinks. I think that's important! Together we work towards a Limburg with good public transport and attention for people and our environment. The future is now, and we as young people have to take action for it.

3. Why are provincial councils especially important for young people?
Are you grumbling about that train taking too long? Do you think national politics doesn't do enough about the climate? Do you think Limburg is not social enough? And don't you feel represented in politics with only grey, old men? Then your voice just might make the difference!

4. Suppose you get into the provincial councils. What would you want to change first?

Should I end up in the Provincial Council, I would ensure that public transport in Limburg and beyond is improved. Now I am not directly eligible myself, but I hope the other candidates will also have this high on their list of priorities.

5. Dilemma: Tesla or train
Train! For young people, this is obviously the easiest mode of transport. The train should become cheaper, more reliable and faster to be the mode of transport of the future.
