Vacancies Board

Vacancies Board

The General Branch Meeting is coming up on Thursday 5 June 2025. At this AAV, we will elect a new board for the coming year. The board takes care of the day-to-day running of the department. They organise the activities, maintain internal and external contacts and ensure that the members can develop to the best of their ability at DWARS.

Once every fortnight there is a board meeting and the other week is usually the activity, so you are involved at least one evening a week. Experience is not necessary, we are mainly looking for enthusiastic people who would like to do something for the department. We are looking for a maximum of 7 people for various positions: chairman, secretary, treasurer, board member Promotion and Member Recruitment, and general board member (max. 3 people). All positions last one (board) year. Got any questions? Send them to us contact form Or app/email the current board member at contact.

What all can I apply for?

  • President
As president, you are the face and ultimate responsibility for the department. You keep in touch with DWARS nationally, other political youth organisations in the region and members of DWARS Leiden-Haaglanden. You are responsible for the tasks carried out within the board and keep an overview of what is happening and needs to be done. You are also responsible for the atmosphere within the board and take into account how your fellow board members feel. This means that you organise the board outings. It is a job where a sense of responsibility is required, but where you also get a lot of fun out of it.
  • Secretary
As secretary of DWARS Leiden-Haaglanden, you keep everything running behind the scenes. You are the first contact person for internal communication within the department. You make sure members are informed about what is happening and welcome new members. You do this by updating the mail, writing newsletters, maintaining the website and taking minutes during board meetings. Per week, you will spend about 5 - 10 hours in this role.
  • Treasurer
The treasurer is an essential position in a department board. As treasurer, you are responsible for the financial situation of the department. You draw up the annual budget, manage the bank account, keep the accounts and ensure that there are enough financial resources to organise activities and set up new campaigns. You also organise at least two cosy cash audits together with the treasury committee (with vegan pizza). Per week, you only need a few hours for your tasks as treasurer, so you also have enough time for organising activities or for other activities.
  • Board member Promotion and Membership Recruitment
As a board member of promotion and member recruitment, you will bring all activities, events and promotions to the attention of members. You are responsible for the department's social media (Instagram). So you make sure members are informed about the activities and that they get excited about them. On activities for new members and you make sure people get the right information and get involved in the department. You will spend about 5-10 hours a week for this position. During campaign time, you will be the department's campaign manager and bring the DWARSe campaign to the attention of members in cooperation with DWARS nationwide and other departments. Keep in mind that during campaign time you will spend a bit more time in the position: 10-15 hours per week.
  • General Board member
As a general board member, you are a jack-of-all-trades. You will mainly be involved in organising and setting up activities, but there are opportunities to take on other portfolios as well and thus have a broad involvement in the board. In addition, you help the other board members whenever and wherever necessary. On average, you will spend about 5 hours a week on your tasks as a general board member, but this will vary from week to week (depending on whether there are meetings or activities).
