Groningen is known for its vast meadows, FC Groningen and, of course, its famous student city. Only, the province of Groningen is also known for its poverty. Many Groningen children grow up in poverty and more and more workers are losing their jobs due to shrinkage in the region.
So these are usually harrowing stories. The bailiff's responsibility is to collect outstanding bills from people who often already have a lot of debts, resulting in even higher debts and a more desperate situation. The relationship between the defaulter and the bailiff can therefore be described as "complicated" .
As a new DWARS board, we wanted to kick off with this interesting topic and so we invited the managing director of Bos Incasso to come and speak about bailiff practice and poverty in Groningen. How does he see the poverty problem? What is his view on the cooperation between debtor and bailiff? Does the debt always lie with the debtor? Or is the poverty problem sometimes actually exacerbated by the bailiff?
Do you also want answers to these pressing questions? Then come along to this interesting evening! Doors open at 19.30 and we start at 20.00. The evening will end around 21.30/22.00. Hope to see you then!
