Camp for refugee rights

A humanitarian disaster is playing out not far from our beautiful city. In Ter Apel, refugees are sleeping in the cold, there are many diseases and recently a baby died. Our hearts broke reading such news.

The reception crisis is not something that happens to us, but a consequence of failed policies. That is why two actions have been organised by DWARS Groningen together with JS Groningen and ROOD Groningen.

First, attention was drawn to the action by standing with photos in the Grand Place. In the report by OOGTV and RTV Noord can be seen how that went.

Thursday on 8 September 2022 was the ‘Camp for Refugee Rights’ action. It was a fun evening with several tents on the Grote Markt to show that a whole lot of people do care about human rights and respectful treatment of newcomers in the Netherlands. In the report of OOGTV can be seen how that was.
