DWARS Groningen is looking for board members!

04 October 2020

DWARS Groningen is immediately looking for two new board members! The positions in question are External Coordinator and Campaign Board Member. Would you like to be responsible, together with the rest of the board, for the ins and outs of the Groningen division? Then don't hesitate and apply! Below is a short description of both positions. Anyone may apply for the positions, whether you are a new DWARSer or one who has been around for years.

The external coordinator is tasked with collaborating with other political youth organisations. The external coordinator organises the DWARS-JOVD debate in cooperation with the JOVD, Left Dicks in cooperation with the Young Socialists and PINK! and Sustainable Thinking in cooperation with the Young Democrats. The external coordinator also organises activities in cooperation with other sections of DWARS. Furthermore, the external coordinator helps other board members where necessary. It is important that the external coordinator is enthusiastic. In addition, the external coordinator must be able to communicate and plan well. The external coordinator is flexible and will therefore spend more time on tasks one week than the next. The position takes about 7.5 to 15 hours per week.

The board member campaign is responsible for the campaign for the 2021 parliamentary elections. Both internally and externally, you will be the point of contact for all matters related to the campaign.
Your main task is to organise activities related to the campaign. These can be classic campaign activities like door-to-door. We will also campaign in other ways through Corona. You therefore need to be creative and dare to colour outside the lines. You will also organise activities to enthuse your fellow DWARSers about campaigning and inform them about GroenLinks's views. You are therefore a convinced GroenLinkser who likes to voice your opinion.
The board member campaign is able to approach DWARSers and other people and get them excited about DWARS. You are therefore enthusiastic and sociable.
The campaign board member also liaises with GroenLinks's campaign team. You coordinate DWARS's campaign activities with GroenLinks's campaign activities. For this, it is important that you have communication skills.
The campaign board member is obviously not alone. His fellow board members are always helping and thinking along to ensure a successful campaign. The job takes about 15 hours a week around election time. After the elections, the campaign board member helps his fellow board members organise activities. The position then costs about 8 hours a week.

The external coordinator can be appointed on an interim basis with immediate effect. A departmental meeting will then be organised as soon as possible to officially appoint you. The board member campaign will be appointed at the general ward meeting in December.

Are you interested in joining the board for the rest of the year? If so, please send an e-mail with cover letter and CV to the candidates' committee: kandidatencommissie.groningen@dwars.org

The deadline to apply is 2 December 2020.

We look forward to your application!
