DWARS in the media: Threshold aid

29 November 2016

Our action to make Groningen more accessible for people with mobility problems has been very well received. Over the past few days, we as DWARS Groningen have received very many positive reactions to this action. “We estimate that about eighty per cent of the shops and establishments in the city centre are not accessible to wheelchair users.”, says Jasper Been, the chairman of our board. The initiative has been embraced by the Groningen City Club, who are so enthusiastic that they fund half of each threshold aid.

The action was taken by RTV Noord and OOGtv picked up, which of course we are very happy and proud of. This media attention naturally raises awareness and recognition of the problem.
