Dear members,
This General Branch Meeting (AAV) is NOT going ahead. As an association, DWARS has decided to take the advice of RIVM and the government to heart, and to take further measures itself. All meetings over 100 people will not take place, meetings over 10 people will only take place in case of extreme necessity, and meetings under 10 people will be discouraged as much as possible.
Based on these measures, the DWARS Gelderland board has decided that all events it organises in March will be cancelled or postponed. In the case of this AAV, it has been decided not to go ahead for practical reasons. Candidates will be contacted by us to find another solution. If you wanted to apply to the AAV, please send an email to Sander (voorzitter.gelderland@dwars.org) and we will contact you.
Love,
Your department board

At this extra general ward meeting (AAV), we expand the board with a political secretary and an Ede-Wageningen board member, appoint someone to handle communications from DWARS Gelderland, and elect new chairs for the activities committee (AcCo) and the education committee (EduCo)!
We will meet at the town hall in Nijmegen at 19:00h, starting at 19:30h. Of course, as at every AAV, there will be a board presentation, the chance to ask the board critical questions, and you may submit motions. How exactly that works is explained below.
All substantive information about the AAV can be found in the AAV reader. It was last updated on 5 March.
At this AAV we elect the following positions, basically all of them maximum (shorter is allowed!) until June 2021, experience is not necessary and we invite everyone to apply:
- Political Secretary (6h/week), responsible for political policy and contact with GroenLinks groups in Nijmegen, Arnhem, Wageningen, and the Provincial Council. Board member.
- Board member Ede-Wageningen e.o. (6h/week), responsible for all things the department does in Ede, Wageningen, and surrounding areas. Handles local politics together with the Political Secretary.
- Communications Coordinator (4h/week), fully self-funded position, handles the online communication of the DWARSe message and motivates members and interested parties with a gooey social media presence. Can be as near and far from the board as you like.
- Chairman of the EduCo (2h/week), coordinates the EduCo's activities with schools and other PJOs, free to fill in.
- Chairman of the AcCo (2h/week), lead the AcCo and provide cool off-topic activities for DWARSers in Gelderland, entirely up to you.
For full vacancies, click on the titles or visit the jobs page!
Because we want to keep our events accessible travel expenses of members can be claimed at the national treasurer's office at https://dwars.org/declareren.
The AAV is chaired by chairman of the day Judith Scherpenisse, for questions on procedure, submitting day motions or last-minute amendments, or bringing along questions or recommendations (for the board or for how she chairs the AAV) you can contact her, her contact details can be found if you are a member on the further AAV information page, and can be obtained from the secretary at secretaris.gelderland@dwars.org.
The AAV will be minuted by Lieselot Vroom, should you have special requests for the minutes (such as pronouns or spelling), the same applies as for the chairman of the day .
The AAV is also the place for member participation. There is plenty of room for the board critical ask questions or submit motions or amendments. Do you have critical questions but cannot attend? If so, you can ask a member who is present or send your questions directly to the chair (Judith). Of course, you can also put your questions directly to the board at gelderland@dwars.org. Motions and amendments can be submitted to the board at secretaris.gelderland@dwars.org, or, if they are daytime motions (physically) at the chair of the day. Don't necessarily know how to write a motion? In the reader is an explanation, the board is also happy to help you, and if you prefer to do it without the board, the chairman of the day can always help you too!
