In February, the Lower House passed an initiative bill by D66 with a narrow majority, stating that cannabis can be grown and purchased legally under certain conditions. The new cabinet wants to conduct a trial of legal cannabis cultivation. A number of municipalities will soon be allowed to sell cannabis grown by one or more organisations designated by the government.
GroenLinks Nijmegen would like to see a trial of legal cannabis cultivation in the Waal city.
