POSTPONED: DWARS and JS X Professor Bert-Jan Verbeek: Iran

Dear DWARS members, JS members, and other interested parties,

This event has unfortunately been postponed. As an association, DWARS has decided to take the advice of RIVM and the government to heart, and, in consultation with GroenLinks, to take further measures itself to inhibit the spread of the Covid-19 virus. All meetings above 100 people will not take place, meetings above 10 people will only take place in case of very great necessity, and also meetings of under 10 people are discouraged as much as possible.
Based on these measures, the board of DWARS Gelderland has decided that all events it organises in March will be cancelled or postponed. In the case of this lecture, the boards of DWARS Gelderland and JS Arnhem-Nijmegen have jointly decided to postpone this lecture (original date was 20 March) to a later date, because it is still a very interesting piece of information, and of course we are super keen to hear from Professor Verbeek about it all. You will hear from us later when this is.

Love,

The boards of DWARS Gelderland and JS Arnhem-Nijmegen
=======================================================================

There have been tensions between Iran and the United States for years. President Trump of America shouted during the election that he was going to solve it by being very tough, cancelling the deal on nuclear energy and nuclear weapons with Iran. Now a good relationship between the US and Iran seems to have completely deteriorated due to the assassination of a key Iranian general, and what should Europe make of that?

Professor of International Relations Bertjan Verbeek is coming to give the members of DWARS, GroenLinkse Youth, the Young Socialists in the PvdA, and other interested parties a current affairs lecture in which he explains and analyses the current situation for us. Do you want to know what the situation means for world politics and for us, as the Netherlands and as the EU, and what you can possibly do about it? And would you like to ask your questions about that? Everyone is welcome on 20 March, at 20:00 in Grotius -1.070, Montessorilaan 10, Nijmegen.
