Vacancy DWARS Academy Coordinator

Vacancy DWARS Academy training coordinator

The DWARS Academy is looking for two new training coordinators. Are you who we are looking for?

What does the DWARS Academy do?

The DWARS Academy is a group of DWARSers who provide training to other DWARSers. These include trainings on debating, working in a team, organising activities, campaigning or activism. The Academy develops its trainings itself, and is also a place where trainers can further develop their own skills.

The complete list of training courses offered by the Academy can be found at the website find

The Academy consists of a group of people who enjoy providing training to other DWARSers and further developing the training.

The Academy meets every six weeks. Alternately, there is then a meeting, or a development session. During a development session, the Academy works on its own training courses, the trainers exchange experiences and work on their skills.

What do the training coordinators do?

The Academy is an independent body in which every member is equal. Of course, it is nice that consultations and training sessions are also planned. This is what the coordinators are for! In pairs, your responsibilities include:

  • Keeping an overview: you will manage the mailbox, liaise between the requester of a training course and the trainers themselves and keep track of Slack;
  • Organising consultations: together, you will organise a development session or a consultation every three weeks. You take care of practical matters, such as arranging a date and location, preparing an agenda and taking minutes;
  • Liaison with the board: you will be the liaison from the national board and will be in regular contact with the board member of education;
  • Inflow: you contact new candidate trainers, handle the application process and then their induction;
  • Support: you will be a point of contact for the Academy's trainers and help them with practical matters, e.g. questions about declarations.

Who are you?

Most importantly, you love organising. It is also desirable if you already have experience within the DWARS Academy. In addition, the traits below are desirable:

  • You are communicatively strong and like to keep an overview;
  • You enjoy working together;
  • You enjoy motivating and activating a group of volunteers;
  • You enjoy being involved in the development of both trainers and other DWARSers.

Time investment

The time investment is around 10 hours per month, but this obviously depends on how much time you want to put in! The time is mainly spent preparing and attending meetings and development sessions. As there are two of you, you can of course divide your time.

Are you interested?
