Extreme-right cabinet fallen, DWARS and JS seek enthusiastic campaigners!

After 11 months of wrangling, the far-right Wilders cabinet has finally fallen. Just like two years ago, right-wing politicians, then Yesilgoz, now Wilders, are trying to divert attention from the real problems in this country. Refugees are constantly being scapegoated, as if migration were the problem. This while inequality increases, nature collapses and democracy crumbles - all because of right-wing policies. After 11 months in power, the government has only made these problems worse.

Instead of going for solutions, the cabinet went full steam ahead with racism, bickering and scandals. The only thing PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB did manage to do was to make cuts. Cuts in education, climate policy and development cooperation. But fortunately, we do get to drive 130 km/h again, on four stretches of motorway!

What we need is a turn to the left. After years of right-wing politics, we really need an alternative now. It is time for the first real left-progressive cabinet since the 1970s. As youth organisations, we call on GroenLinks-PvdA to enter the campaign with an ambitious and truly left-wing narrative; social, sustainable, inclusive and above all: system-critical. Let's put the mess of 20 years of VVD governments behind us once and for all now and let's fight for a just future.
