Manifesto Solidarity with Ukraine = Solidarity with the People
02 March 2022When the rich go to war, it is the poor who die.
Solidarity with Ukraine should mean solidarity with the people. DWARS and PINK! are therefore in solidarity with all the victims of this war that will unfortunately bear its costs.
So we demand the following from the government:
- Solidarity with the Ukrainian people: support for the Ukrainian people, especially marginalised groups.
- ‘Solidarity’ and ‘responsibility’ of EU asylum policy: A Dutch and European asylum policy that truly complies with the principles of ‘solidarity’ and ‘equitable sharing of responsibility’.
- Solidarity with the Russian people: support from anti-war protesters and independent civil society in Russia.
- Solidarity internationally: through international human rights and humanitarian standards, and support mechanisms.
We will hand the manifesto over to our political groups in the Lower House next week together with PINK! Our international secretary Srish will also raise this further at the European level with GroenLinks Europe.

When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die.
Solidarity with Ukraine must mean solidarity with the people. DWARS and PINK! stand therefore in solidarity with all the victims of this war who will unfortunately bear its costs.
We thus demand from the government the following:
- Solidarity with the Ukrainian people: support for the Ukrainian people, especially marginalised groups.
- “Solidarity” and “responsibility” of EU asylum policy: a Dutch and European asylum policy that actually lives up to the principles of “solidarity” and “fair sharing of responsibility”.
- Solidarity with the Russian people: support for the anti-war protesters and independent civil society in Russia.
- Solidarity internationally: via international human rights and humanitarian norms, and support mechanisms.
We will hand the manifesto over next week with PINK! to our fractions in the House of Representatives. Our international secretary Srish will also further discuss this at the European level with GroenLinks Europe.
