What will you do as a Political Adviser?

Political advisers support the national board in the political field by contributing ideas on political issues, such as sustainability, the economy or inclusion & diversity. They follow the news, listen to debates and give advice (solicited and unsolicited) to the board on topical issues. They also co-write opinion pieces, brainstorm on manifestos and help with political statements on social media. In addition, you work together with the national board on your own substantive project. As a political advisor, you will spend 5 hours a week supporting the national board politically. You have regular meetings with all Political Advisors and the board, as well as with your substantive committee. As Political Adviser, there is room for personal development in writing political statements, gaining knowledge on a particular theme and learning to present a strong and convincing story.

If you want to advise the board on international politics, and write opinion pieces or statements on geopolitics, then this is the position for you.

And now?

At the Winter Congress, Political Advisors were elected for all themes, but the PA on the International theme quit. Therefore, the board wants to appoint an interim PA International. Because as an interim PA, you are not elected by the congress, but appointed by the board and the CoA, you must apply for this position to the board.

As an Interim PA, you are just as much PA as any other PA. The only difference is that you are not elected at the congress. However, you will still have to be approved at the summer congress by a nomination from the board.
