The DWARS Academy is looking for two new training coordinators!
What does the DWARS Academy do?
The DWARS Academy is a group of DWARSers who provide training to other DWARSers. These include trainings on debating, working in a team, organising activities, campaigning or activism. The Academy develops its trainings itself, and is also a place where trainers can further develop their own skills.
The complete list of training courses offered by the Academy can be found on the website. The Academy is constantly looking for new people who would like to give training sessions to other DWARSers and to further develop the training sessions.
The Academy meets every six weeks. Alternately, there is then a meeting, or a development session. During a development session, the Academy works on its own training courses, the trainers exchange experiences and work on their skills.
What does a training coordinator do?
The training coordinators coordinate the Academy together with the board member with the Training portfolio. The tasks of the training coordinators include:
* Preparing and chairing meetings.
* Preparing development sessions.
* Coordinating training requests.
* Liaise with the board member with the Training portfolio.
* Work with the board member with the Training portfolio and Academy trainers to develop the Academy itself.
In the week of a meeting or development session, this function takes more time and in other weeks less. You are also mainly busy in the evening and sometimes the weekend, as that is when the meetings and development sessions are. You will spend about 6 hours per month on it.
Who are you?
As a training coordinator, it is important to be able or willing to learn the following:
* organise development sessions and meetings
* coming up with ideas for training and supporting the Academy in this
* communicate well
* be able to enthuse a group
The time commitment for this position is about 6 hours per month.
