DWARS launches its own Best Director election
05 January 2018Today, DWARS, the youth organisation of GroenLinks is launching an election for the best driver of 2017. This is a counter-action towards the Best Local Director election by Binnenlands Bestuur, of which it was announced today that all 10 nominees are men.
Chairman Bas van Weegberg: "When Trudeau composed his government with half women a few years ago and was asked questions about it, his answer was, "because it's 2015." Meanwhile, it's 2018 and Interior nominates only men for their election. This is bizarre and unnecessary. Quality enough! With our action, we want to express our appreciation for all those women administrators who work day in, day out to move our society forward."
DWARS has nominated 10 female administrators from across the Netherlands, from different political parties and in different positions, for the title. Voting can be done by anyone week on DWARS's website. Voting will close on Friday 12 January at 18:00. Voting can be done via dwa.rs/Best driver.
