DWARS expresses support for Youth For Climate NL

Youth for Climate NL is organising a climate strike on Thursday 7 February, and DWARS will be there!

The "greenest cabinet ever" is failing. Targets to reduce CO2 emissions will not be met. The climate agreement is not delivering enough, according to environmental organisations. The court ruled that more had to be done in the Urgenda case, but since 2015 nothing extra has happened. While the climate problem has been known for decades.

While youngsters are taught in school how climate change works, nothing is being done to counter the drama it will cause. We are done with it. We don't go to school to learn about climate change, only to hear in the news that the coalition is taking no action on it. We don't go to school, we go to Malieveld to make it heard that young people are done with it. We don't go to school because we play truant for climate.

The politically independent organisation Youth for Climate NL is organising this strike. DWARS has prepared an absence letter for our members and interested schoolchildren that you can give to the management of your school to let them know that you are on strike for the climate. Download it here!
