DWARS baffled by choice of Blok over Kaag
05 March 2018Today, Prime Minister Rutte announced that Stef Blok has been put forward to succeed Halbe Zijlstra as foreign minister. DWARS, the youth organisation of GroenLinks, is aghast at this choice.
DWARS chairman Bas van Weegberg: "It is bizarre that Rutte again chooses a mediocre man with no foreign experience instead of an internationally renowned former top diplomat like Sigrid Kaag. Rutte refuses to choose quality and that is not in the interest of our country."
As recently as November last year, Blok said that "women carry a certain irrationality". The fact that after making this statement Blok is still allowed to take over the position of a top diplomat like Sigrid Kaag is ridiculous, according to the youth of GroenLinks.
