Catarina strives for a Europe that is there for all its inhabitants and treats the earth well. Born in Azores, Portugal, she is now 27 years old and lives in Hilversum. In addition to her beautiful plans for a fair and green Europe, she plans to represent young people in Europe, as unfortunately this is not happening enough now.
I am Catarina, candidate #10 on the GroenLinks-PvdA list for the European elections. As the youngest candidate on the list, I am young enough to know better. To know that the climate crisis is the biggest threat to our future. To know that the far right will continue to try to undermine our rights and freedoms. To know that peace and democracy cannot be taken for granted.
Change needs a voice. So go and vote!
Those elected to take seats in the European Parliament will play a role in shaping our future. I want to make my voice heard to stand up for what really matters. To work for a just climate transition in which we pull out all the stops and leave no one behind. To fight for an economic system that puts the planet and people before profit. To stand up for the rights of women and the LGBTQIA+ community. To stand up for a more humane system for migrants and asylum seekers. To work for a strong, peaceful and democratic Europe. In short: to fight for a bright future for future generations.
Kenville was born and raised on the island of Curaçao and now lives in Rotterdam. In both places, he has learned the importance of everyone being heard. He therefore hopes to ensure that no one is forgotten or left behind in the European Union.
I am Kenville, candidate #18 on the GroenLinks-PvdA list for the European elections. As a student of public administration, I understand the challenges young people face.
I strongly believe in Europe's role in tackling challenges such as the climate crisis, sustainability, the housing crisis and inequality. At the same time, the interests of young people in Europe are not heard enough and our future is not taken into account enough. With an average age of 53 for MEPs, it is also not very surprising that our interests are often overlooked.
I ask for your support and voice today. Brussels may seem far away, but it affects our daily lives more than you think. Young people must have a voice in shaping our future Europe. Currently, only 2% of MEPs are under 30, but we are 100% the future of Europe. That is why I want to work on increasing the Erasmus+ grant for college, university and vocational school students, recognising degrees in all member states and increasing youth participation in EU proposals.
