Gijs is the president of DWARS. He is 21 years old and lives in Utrecht. Gijs studied Management and Organisation Science in Utrecht, but is currently on a gap year. He has gained experience at DWARS as treasurer and chairman of DWARS Utrecht, as congress committee member and as editor-in-chief of OverDWARS. Last year, he was the national secretary of DWARS. As chairman, Gijs leads the national board. He is also jointly responsible for the political direction, represents DWARS at GroenLinks and is the first point of contact for people outside the association, such as external organisations and journalists. Gijs is committed to an accessible and inclusive association, where everyone feels welcome and heard. She is also highly motivated to make DWARS's system-critical and values-driven voice heard in the political and public debate.
