Unfortunately, all good things also come to an end, but in this case to make way for even more good things. At the last AAV on 27 June, the new board was elected, to which the baton has now been handed over. We are happy to make them known to you.

Chairman - Rick Timmermans

Hi I am Rick Timmermans, 20 years old and I am from Drunen. I finished my History Bachelor last year and am now continuing to work on my research master's degree in History in Utrecht. I am a member of DWARS Brabant-Zeeland from February 2020 and was secretary of the department last year. This year, I see it as a great challenge to do my bit as chairman to contribute to a fairer, greener and more inclusive Brabant. Besides studying and DWARS, I often attend RKC Waalwijk matches as a fanatical supporter.

I hope to contribute to a great election result in March in the coming year as chairman. I also want to ensure that the department remains accessible and fun for both new and older members. Together we will make it a nice green year!

Secretary, vice-chairman - Jamie Verstraeten

Hi all! My name is Jamie and I get to be your secretary and vice-president this year. I am in my third year of studying Public Administration at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, but I live in my hometown of Breda. In my free time, I like to go to festivals and amusement parks, meet up with girlfriends, hike and read, and watch films and series.

I joined DWARS because I believe that social issues cannot be separated. Red, green and purple themes, such as social equality, sustainability and inclusion, are inseparable. Within DWARS, I would like to advocate for these interconnected ideals. Moreover, as secretary and vice-chairman, I want to ensure that all (new) members feel welcome in the department. If you have any questions or great ideas, please do not hesitate to contact me!

I am extremely looking forward to making it an enjoyable and inspiring year with my fellow board members.

Treasurer - Brechje Beljaars

My name is Brechje Beljaars and I am eighteen years old. I live in Gilze, a small village in between Tilburg and Breda. I study law at the Juridische Hogeschool in Tilburg. Besides my studies, I can be found at the gym or with friends.

I hope to contribute to DWARS Brabant this year as a good treasurer. I would like to keep the activities accessible to all members, so that together we can enjoy the Brabant conviviality our department has to offer.

Board member campaign - Damon Worm

I am Damon, a 20-year-old Eindhoven native. I have been interested in politics for as long as I can remember, but for a long time I thought my opinion did not matter. Nevertheless, I joined DWARS a year ago and I have learnt a lot over the past year. Now I have even been democratically elected as a general board member of our department! So I would like to impart that (whether you are somewhat shy yourself or not) the opinions of shy people matter too.
I hope to make it a good year also towards the municipal elections.

Board member communications - Emma de Klein

Hi, my name is Emma de Klein. I'm 20 years young and the new board member communications! Secretly I come from above the rivers, Utrecht, but now I live in the heart of Tilburg. As a communications student, I am naturally very excited about this position, but above all I am happy to be able to contribute a bit within DWARS. This is where I hope to apply my knowledge and, of course, learn a thing or two. Finally, I would like to get everyone as enthusiastic as I am and make it a great year with the rest of the board.
