DWARS Brabant on wards weekend

Last weekend, the departmental weekend of DWARS took place. This is a weekend organised by the national board for all departmental boards. All boards from all over the Netherlands came together in Groningen to get to know each other, attend training sessions, get inspired and share experiences. There were also social activities to get to know each other better. This is important for team building to finally form a better board.

Among other things, we received training on the website. Thomas and Myrte attended on behalf of our department. They taught us what you can do with the website, what a good website looks like and how you can keep your website up to date. At the end of this training, we made a concrete action plan of what we want to improve on our website and we will definitely start working on it.

Furthermore, all the chairmen sat together for a chairmen's meeting, Shaye spoke to all the other treasurers about budgets and our secretary Thomas received training on how to deal with membership records and privacy.

Louana and Shaye still exchanged views with the others on what activities are cool and how to organise a good activity. Shaye and Myrte also received activism training and Nicky and Louana attended a session on diversity.

It has also been very important to get to know each other and the other boards better. This allows us to work better together and organise activities with other boards.

All in all, we can say that we had a super cool weekend where we learnt a lot about running a department!
